Events

The Colourful Coast partners are planning plenty of events along the Copeland coast during 2019.  Whether you want to come with the family to join in with a sandcastle competition, take a guided walk to St Bees head or volunteer at our regular beach cleans we’d love to see you!

Sunday 10 November Bulb planting on Solway Road verge, 12pm – 3pm. As part of the Get Cumbria Buzzing project we’re planting bulbs and wildflowers to provide vital food for pollinators like bees and butterflies. We hope these will look great when they flower next year. If you want to help us then drop by and plant a few bulbs anytime from 10am – 1pm. We’ll have all the equipment, we just need a few extra hands to help out.

We provide all the equipment you’ll need (litterpickers, bin bags, gloves, sometimes even biscuits!).  Boots or wellies are recommended.  Please dress according to the weather (raincoat, suncream, sunhat).  In St Bees we meet in the main beach car park, behind the lifeboat station.  In Whitehaven we meet at the top of the slipway near the parking machines on North Shore, behind Tesco.  Thanks to Copeland Borough Council for collecting the rubbish we find.
